To Join the Cosmic Chat Group, please follow these steps.
2) Download the free version of PalTalk
3) Register (use a valid email or you can't retrieve the code ).
4) Follow their steps, and then go to File, Display Groups List.
5) Scroll down to MEET NEW FRIENDS, and click on ~Cosmic Poetry~
You have now joined the Cosmic Chat room. Remember to please wait a minute, or so before you begin talking, because people may be reading their poems to the room. At that point you have three options. You can talk to people privately, talk using VOX (Voice Audio), or by being sociable and typing to the room itself. (the option that we prefer!)
6) Remember that there are no bots yet in PalTalk, so it is the responisibility of every h@ holder to post the link in the sponsor bar when they open the room, and of every Cosmic member that is there to post the link to the Poetry Site to anyone new who enters the chat while you are there, or to direct them to read the sponsors bar: The link is, http://www.cosmicpoetry.org/cosmicpoetry.

The Room is no longer locked down, but bans are now in effect for certain people, and sadly that list is only likely to grow larger. This is the result of room raiders and other such ilk. Please read and understand the following:
To all members. Private Messages are to be limited only to those that you have asked permission to in the chat room and have agreed to it. DO NOT private message (PM) the h@ holders, or the Managers for ANYTHING other than site matters; an individual that is causing problems in the room (send their name exactly as written), or an emergency. They are not to be used for casual conversation (that is what we have provided the chat room for), so please be courteous and understand that there are 200 of you and only a few of us. If you abuse this privilege, you will likely be removed from our pal lists so that we can have just a little bit of peace and quiet.

You can no longer pipe recorded poetry or music directly into Pal Talk. In order to do so you must go through your Windows Voice Recorder by using the following steps:
1. Open your Sound Recorder
2. Click on Edit
3. Click on Audio Properties
4. Click on Sound Recording (mid way down the list)
5. Click on Volume
6. Click on Options (top left)
7. Click on Advanced Controls
8. Click on Stereo Out, then open Windows Explorer select your sound file, and select play, then go immediately into the Cosmic Poetry room and
9. Click on Actions on the top tool bar, scroll down the list till you are near the bottom and
10. Click Lock Microphone (at this point you are now playing your recorded piece to the room). Please remember to A) Unlock your Microphone and B) go back into the Recording window and change it back from Stereo Out to Microphone once you are finished so that you can talk normally into the room again. Even though it has nothing to do with us, we do apologise for this hassle.

Hey folks, I just tripped across an easier way to pipe music into the new pal talk 7.0 Just follow these few, simple steps:
1. In your buddy list go to setup and choose Preferences
2. Click on the button that says Audio Test
3. At the very bottom there is a link labelled Input Mixer Settings; click on that.
4. Choose Stereo Out
5. Choose your music, and click on Play in Media Player or other sound program.
6. In the Cosmic Room go to Actions and choose Lock Microphone.
7. Restore settings once your song is finished.
