Welcome Poets!

We are excited to introduce to our members the very first of our on-going poetry contests specially designed for the advanced writer and those that wish to challenge themselves against the more skilled of our Cosmic crew.

A new "dance" contest will be held each month which will involve a total of four weekly submissions per entrant, each scored out of a possible twenty-five points and therefore a possible perfect score of one hundred points at the finals.

Dance-Round Categories Include:

Freestyle 25 points
Latin 25 points
Quickstep 25 points
Waltz
 25 points

All contests will have an ekphrastic premise (a photograph or work of art as a springboard) and shall incorporate the many forms of poetry and prose. A strong skill level is recommended but we do encourage those in the intermiediate categories who wish to further their writing abilities, to flex your pens here as well.

Remember:
Please, do not sign up to compete if you cannot fulfill deadline obligations
as there is assigned partnering during some of the dances
and someone may be counting on you to not step on theirs toes!

PasoDobleCongratulations to the graceful dancing team of Illudiumphosdex (who lost his partner in the first round due to a late-entry disqualification) and UnbiddenAngel (his new partner) who performed the villanelle exquisitely and wowed the judges with their style to take home the round

The exciting Villanelle form was chosen by our judges to further evaluate how well the teams collaborate within such strict confines of both the poetic rules and our own Cosmic guidelines...

Freestyle Dance:

This style was executed perfectly by all of our dancers who interpreted a photograph provided for them for the ekphrastic showcase.
